What is the difference between Identity and Access Management (IAM) and CIAM?
IAM (also called Workforce IAM) takes care of the authorization of internal employees. This mainly involves access to internal company resources and associated approval processes. Scaling is usually not as important here as with a CIAM solution, which primarily deals with external identities. The focus is on progressive profiling, user experience and consent management.
